Denne vin er den typiske Sagrantino, og kan kaldes en mellemting mellem Cerqua og Macchie. Knap så powerfull som Macchie og knap så elegant som Cerqua.

Fra 3,2 ha sydøstvendt kalkholdig mark beliggende 390 meter over havet.

Stokkene er plantet i 1998, så 22 år gamle.

1125 dage på 25 hl fransk eg fra producenten Garbellotto i Veneto efterfulgt af 18 mdr. på flaske.

The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Colle Grimaldesco smolders up from the glass with a smoky display of black cherries and licorice engulfed in an air of crushed stone. This is silky and rich, with depths of ripe black fruits offset by exotic spices and savory herbs. For all of the weight and intensity, a core of vibrant acidity maintains harmonious balance as this tapers off long and structured; there are depths of character here just waiting to come to the surface. This will be an exciting Sagrantino to follow for many years to come. The fruit for the Colle Grimaldesco hails from sandy, silty clay soils, and the wine is refined entirely in large casks for 36 months.
