Castello Tricerchi Brunello di Montalcino A.D. 1441 DOCG 2019
Castello Tricerchi Brunello di Montalcino A.D. 1441 DOCG 2019
This Brunello di Montalcino is the latest high-quality wine from Castello Tricerchi. The castle was founded in the year 1441.
Tommaso has outdone himself with this full-bodied and elegant Brunello. Aromas of black cherries and strawberries with a hint of tobacco and chocolate – just like we know it from the 'regular' Brunello, but this 'riserva' is more elegant and well-balanced in its expression. The taste is smooth and lingers on the palate.
The vineyards, Vigna del Castello and Vigna del Veloder, consist of a mix of clay and sand situated at an altitude of 290 meters with a west/northwest exposure.
The vineyards' age is approximately 30 years.
The harvest took place at the beginning of October by hand, and the vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23 degrees for 30 days.
The malolactic fermentation continues for five months, after which the wine ages in large Slavonian oak barrels of 15-20 hectoliters for 36 months. Afterward, the wines are aged for at least 8 months in the bottle before release.
Only 2,700 bottles were produced in this vintage.
