Collection: Tua Rita

The story of this world-famous producer starts in 1984, when Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio Bisti bought bought the place in the area around Suvereto in southern Tuscany. They brought money from a successful business and now they wanted to live life. However, the story became that they started making wine, and from here it has only gone uphill. There were 2 ha for the site. The place was named Tua Rita, but the big push came when in 1996 Tua Rita joined the affairs with the son-in-law, Stefano Frascolla's domain. He is today the man in charge and definitely the man who must be given the greatest credit for Tua Rita's fame.

The absolute flagship of the house is Redigaffi, 100% top elegant Merlot, which is not behind some of the great Italian Merlot wines or, for that matter, wines in Bordeaux. A supremely elegant wine that is simply great. The grapes for Redigaffi are picked only by women, and 3-4 times as many man-hours are spent on the Redigaffi fields as the other fields.

Redigaffi 2000 received 100 points from Robert Parker.

The house initially sold grapes to, among other things, Sassicaia, but 1992 was the first vintage of the house's signature wine, Giusto di Notri, (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc). Later in 1994 came Redigaffi (100% Merlot), Per Semper (100% Syrah) and from cooler fields on the other side of Suvereto the Sangiovese wine, Perlato del Bosco, is now produced.

The house works organically without certification.

For approx. 4 years ago Tua Rita expanded with the acquisition of Poggio Argentiera in Morellino near Grosseto.
