The result certainly did not disappoint! It is often said that beautiful wine is created in beautiful places and by beautiful people. At the farm Quinta do Pessegueiro there is a full plate of everything! A completely unique location in the upper part of the Douro River, where noble port wine has been cultivated for centuries - it is stunningly beautiful here! The area has also been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO for many years, precisely because of the region's unique natural beauty and cultural history. It is no coincidence that the vineyards by the Douro river have had their own appellation since 1756.
The current owner has run the estate since 1991, and from the start has had a clear goal of creating top wines, driven by quality in all aspects of winemaking.
Wine production at Quinta do Pessegueiro takes place both in respect for tradition and today's climate challenges. Sustainability, green energy and gentle handling of the important grapes are keywords for the producer. For example are the processes that turn the grapes into wine driven by gravity in the cellar, rather than mechanical pumps. The farm has 3 fields, and the wines grow at altitudes from 85 to 355 meters above sea level. The height differences help ensure complex wines with a perfect balance of power and elegance.
