Collection: Casanova di Neri

Founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, who with his great visions and passion understood the enormous potential of the wines in the Montalcino area. One of the historic producers in Montalcino. The first Brunello di Montalcino was vintage 1978 and this wine still drinks fantastically.

Production started in Torrieneri, and when we started with Casanova di Neri, it all happened there. Later, vineyards were bought. Cerretalto in the eastern part of Montalcino and Tenuta Nuova in S. Angelo in Colle. Pietradonice in S. Antimo came later.

The first vintage of Cerretalto was 1988, the first vintage of Tenuta Nuova was 1993 and the first vintage of Pietradonice was 2000.

The last shot on the trunk is a fantastic Brunello field located in the Sesti area between S. Angelo in Colle and S. Antimo. Brunello di Montalcino will come from here in 2023. A small production of Rosso di Montalcino Giovanni (a tribute to Giacomo Neri's father) was released in 2019 as Rosso di Montalcino Giovanni Neri, and later several vintages have been added. It is Rosso with an almost unheard of elegance.

With 63 hectares of vineyards, Casanova di Neri is one of the largest family farms in Montalcino. Giacomo Neri is still the farmer who is most comfortable in the field. Giovanni, the eldest son, is the oenologist and winemaker, and youngest son Gianlorenzo has taken international training in the business side, so the two brothers are ready to run the store. The sister has just graduated as a lawyer, and she is now also part of the operation.

We have had a wonderful and good collaboration with Casanova di Neri since 2001, and we have developed a warm friendship with the whole family.
