Tua Rita's truly great wine.

The wine planted in 1988 on the chalky fields around the winery.

In 1994, they decided at Tua Rita to take two barriques of fat merlot and vinify these alone rather than as usual blending it with cabernet for Giusto di Notri. The wine was named after a stream that runs very close to the vineyard. This was the beginning of the cult wine, Redigaffi, which later for vintage 2000 achieved 100 points with Robert Parker.

After harvest, the wine has been aged for 18-20 months in new French barriques.

Redigaffi is a fantastic merlot with great balance and elegance. The wine just has so many layers of dark fruits and there are also tones of chocolate.m

A master wine that impresses year after year.

2019 was an almost perfect vintage in Tuscany, where everything came at the right time. The only downside is the low yield.

I am a big fan of the 2019 vintage and, in most cases, prefer it to the 2018 vintage that is often harder to read (with alternating spells of cool and heat). But in the case of this wine, I like both vintages about the same for different reasons. The 2019 Redigaffi feels elegant and less hearty compared to its previous edition. This important Merlot-based wine delivers an immediate quality of fruit, with pretty freshness that renders a very lively and vivid mouthfeel. This is a sharp and well-defined interpretation of the grape with black cherry, granite and cooling menthol-like endnotes.
