Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Hauts Poirets" 2017

At the southern end of Nuits-Saint-Georges, grapes for "Les Hauts Poirets" are grown on steeply sloping land on the hilltop above the old quarry. The plot has an area of ​​0.29 ha and the vines are 65 years old.

The grapes are picked by hand at optimum ripeness and sorted and de-stemmed and placed in barrels to ferment for 20 to 25 days. The wine matures for 18 to 24 months in 40% new barrels, after which it is bottled without filtration.

The color is deep ruby ​​red and in the nose you sense ripe red and black berries with a touch of chalk. In the mouth, the wine has a nice minerality, and the elegance of the fruit compliments the tannins in the finest way.
