Collection: Pievalta
Since 2002, Pievalta has been located in the heart of Italy's picturesque Marche region surrounded by rolling green hills and valleys. Pievalta is a remarkable winery where tradition, craftsmanship and a huge passion for biodynamic methods and for preserving the natural balance are united in perfect harmony.
In 2008, Pievalta succeeded in becoming the first certified organic producer in the Le Marche region. They maintain their vineyards by using legumes as green manure between the rows and use biodynamic preparations to promote the formation of fertile soil, strengthen plant growth and show the greatest possible respect for the unique character of the area.
It is precisely this deeply felt connection to both the land and the traditions that is clearly expressed in the wine from Pievalta. The winery's dedication to shaping wines with authentic character and expression of the terroir is clearly noticeable.
Central to Pievalta's wine production is the Verdicchio grape. This grape variety is a masterpiece of nature's diversity and perfectly expresses the Marche region's climate and soil conditions. Pievalta's range is an exploration of different nuances of verdicchio, ranging from refreshing and lively expressions to deep and complex variations that are a testament to the versatility of verdicchio.
Today it is 43 ha attached to the vineyard, of which 32 ha are planted with vines, the rest is lush nature.
Barone Pizzini is the owner of the winery and Alessandro Fenino, oenologist is the winemaker at Pievalta, with their joint expertise, passion and creativity Pievalta's success is almost inevitable. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the area's grape varieties and climatic conditions, Alessandro has managed to express the best of verdicchio in all the wines.
The very special thing about Alessandro is his incessant curiosity and desire to explore new paths within the world of wine. This is reflected in Pievalta's experimental approach to winemaking, resulting in wines that constantly surprise and enchant.
The special thing about Pievalta's verdicchio wines is that they are super fresh and lively.
They have a nice acidity that gives a light and refreshing taste. A nice minerality which gives lots of finesse. Taste of fruits such as lemon, pear and apple.
But Pievalta can also work magic with the Verdicchio grape and make wines that are a little more intense and complex. Some of their wines, such as "San Paolo", have a floral aroma and taste reminiscent of nuts.
The beauty of all Pievalta's verdicchio wines is that they really show where they come from.
